Microsoft Denotes European Dominance
Microsoft lately said it would assemble research centers in France, Germany and Britain to better its online search technology, accounting the move as a vote of authority in the European economy and in the company’s ability to close the breach with Google.
Microsoft, which has fought in gear combats with European regulators over its Windows operating system, now making a major commitment to Europe when several parties were uneasy about passing on new tasks.
Microsoft has been driving to better its power to conduct Internet searches and to pull in the advertising income that comes with them, following its unsuccessful bid to assume Yahoo. Rather, Yahoo coined a deal with the market leader, Google, to apportion some search capabilities.
Google, which has a large technology center in Zurich and a significant presence in a number of European countries, also conducts enquiry on search in Europe.
